Medical examination:

We allow enough time for an intake interview. We also perform a physical examination that includes psychological tests, body composition analysis, head-up tilt table test, X-ray, blood tests, special hormone tests, an antioxidant defense system test, and dark field microscopy test.

Body Composition Analysis

Body composition analysis is performed by measuring the percentages of fat, muscle and water in your body.

Blood Tests

Common blood tests are done to obtain information about your complete blood count, liver, kidneys, pancreas, HDL and LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. You will also have urinalysis.

Blood tests that measure the blood levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S), cortisol, and catecholamine fractionation show the levels of your stress and vitality.

Thyroid hormone tests and carotid ultrasound (echo) help us detect underlying health problems.

We will refer you to specialists when magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) of the head, cardiac MRI, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy are required.

The Antioxidant Defense System Test

The antioxidant defense system test measures the levels of your oxidative stress and antioxidant potentials, and the efficacy of your antioxidant defense system. The test reveals the influence of aging and oxidative stress on your body.

The Head-up Tilt Table Test

The head-up tilt table test is done to assess the function of the autonomic nervous system by monitoring cardiovascular responses to the change in position. The autonomic nervous system regulates the cardiovascular system.

The tilt test begins when you are fully relaxed on the table. Your systolic and diastolic blood pressures, heart rate, stroke volume, cardiac output, and systemic vascular resistance are monitored in a horizontal position (3 times) and in a vertical position (5 times) at 2-minute intervals. Electrocardiogram and GMS Makin2 for the spectrum analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) are also connected to you.

You may faint during the test if you have neurally mediated syncope (NMS). The clinic is equipped with automated external defibrillator (AED), and we are well prepared.

During the postural change from lying down to standing, blood is pooled in the lower limbs because of gravitational forces. Normally, the autonomic nervous system constricts blood vessels in the lower limbs and helps blood return to the heart. The autonomic nervous system also increases heart rate. As a result, a decrease in blood flow to the brain and the upper part of the body is prevented.

The autonomic nervous system fails to function normally when there are such illnesses as orthostatic hypotension and fibromyalgia syndrome. Accordingly, blood pressure and heart rate are regulated improperly. This leads to the temporary decrease of blood flow to the brain and the upper part of the body, which triggers pain and fainting.

On the tilt table, your hemodynamics is monitored (hemodynamic monitoring). While you lie flat on the table, your blood pressure and heart rate are taken 3 times. Then the table is moved to a vertical position and you have your blood pressure and heart rate taken 5 times. Such monitoring helps us assess the function of your autonomic nervous system.

  Hemodynamic monitoring

Hemodynamic monitoring is the way to evaluate the function of your cardiovascular system. Systolic and diastolic blood pressures, heart rate, stroke volume, cardiac output, and systemic vascular resistance are monitored. Korotkoff soundgraph (KSG), electrocardiogram, and GMS Makin2 for the spectrum analysis of heart rate variability are used.

The autonomic nervous system is responsible for regulating these hemodynamic indicators. Hemodynamic monitoring helps us see your hemodynamic responses to postural change from lying to standing.

The monitoring will not hurt.

How long does the tilt table test take?

The test takes about 1 hour.

If you are taking medications, ask a doctor how to take them before the test.

The Dark Field Microscopy

The dark field microscope is equipped with a special illumination and allows us to view a specimen hit by scattered beams in the dark field.

Recently the figures show the initial changes of glycation, and the Ages, show the last change of glycation.
